Broker's Comments
Where to start with this stunning and much loved Herbert Woods 37 Light class classic cruiser? The boat has been in the tender care of her current owner for the last 14 years. He has spared no expense in putting her back to the original condition that she would once have graced the Herbert Woods hire fleet during the 60`s. Additionally, many of the systems have been updated to include hot water, heating, shore power, New Nanni diesel engine (9 years ago) etc. She has a full and documented history of which the owner is rightly proud.
She has been extensively restored and even had a recent survey late in 2021, which was a good survey with just a few small recommendations and all have been addressed and work carried out by a local wooden boat specialist yard. There is a full history and bills for over £110k of work to bring this boat back to her current stunning condition. The vendor wanted to save what is a historic boat and part of his past and is happy that the craft is now completed and preserved for future generations to enjoy. that was his goal. The main hog has only just been replaced and completed her full and very comprehensive restoration. If you are looking for a genuine Broads classic presented as well as any are likely to ever be presented, then this is your opportunity to acquire a piece of Broadland history. The document file of work is about 4 inches thick! and the recent survey is glowing.
This stunning centre cockpit cruiser has been designed to navigate the Broads network but would be suitable for other waterways too.
Entering aft you find a large aft well with step/bench and two gas lockers one either side. Entering the central companionway door you find yourself in a large aft cabin with a double and a single berth/sofa. Moving forward you move into the central galley that has a full size gas cooker and high level fridge. To starboard is a large heads and shower room with vanity and basin. Moving forward we step up to the large main saloon with full sliding roof. There are side steps to access the wide decks when the roof is open. The saloon has plush and comfortable wrap-around seating and the helm station is to port. Moving forward we enter the large front cabin with its own separate heads and a port mounted vanity and basin. the two singles convert to a large double and all infills are present.
She has a current valid Boat Safety Certificate to 30/5/2025 and her mooring, in a wet shed, is paid to October 2023 and her Broads toll is paid to April 2023.
