The outside helm is fully enclosable by a canvas structure and the aft deck is covered by a bimini. This makes the raised aft deck area a very usable and convivial three season space. Access to the swim platform and hot and cold deck shower. A dinghy is suspended from stainless davits. Side decks are wide and well secured with solid stanchions and the foredeck is uncluttered making crew work easier. Down the companionway into the saloon there is a feeling of space and light. Even with the curtains drawn against the southern sun the inside is bright spacious and airy and even with the engine running the noise levels are more than acceptable. A drinks fridge is situated under the helm seat and an icemaker is also included in the sale. The U shaped galley is forward to port and convertible dinette to starboard. The microwave oven also has a built in grill. Headroom is over 2m in this area and 1.95m in the saloon. Next is a day heads with electric WC and finally the V berth forward cabin (berths 220 x 85). Aft of the saloon are two double cabins, one to port with a double berth 190 x 139 and headroom of 186cm. The other to starboard is a double bunk cabin (beds 185 x 75 and 185 x 85) with 1.85 headroom. There is good sized head aft with another electric macerator toilet, a shower of 65 x 85 and a 3kg washing machine under the handbasin. Portable fans included for all cabins as is the vacuum cleaner and electric deck scrubber!
1000 litres of water and a gas instantaneous water heater with balanced flue provides good efficient autonomy. Heating is from a diesel fired Eberspacher to blown air.

Broker's Comments
Twin screw Dutch steel cruiser for sale in the south of France. Boatshed Midi Canals is pleased to offer this Linssen 42SL for sale.
Bought in 2017 by our vendors and only for sale due to unforeseen health issues, this is a twin engine motor cruiser in classic Linssen style. Our vendors have spent a lot of money during their ownership including a full professional repaint in 2017 and electrical upgrades in 2021.
There is evidence of old water ingress on the saloon headlinings (see our photos) but our vendor informs us that these issues have been addressed since they bought the boat. Also a fastidious new owner may want to renovate the existing teak deck which is showing signs of its age but it still seems very serviceable to me and very comfortable under foot.
Plenty of accommodation inside and out making this is an ideal boat for a family or a couple who enjoy inviting guests along to enjoy the cruising. Equally at home on coasts or canals, this is a stylish “best of both worlds” motor cruiser.
