Broker's Comments
Boatshed Norfolk are pleased to be able to offer this 1984 Relcraft 23 diesel sports cruiser. Due to the circumstances around the vessel with her owner having passed away recently, we have very limited information on the boat and so it is offered for sale as is and as a light project. That said, to my eye she appears to be a very light cosmetic project having only been ashore since the middle of 2023. The family knows nothing about the boat so are unable to advise what does or does not work. When I photographed the boat I could see nothing more than cosmetic works required amounting to some easy and cheap to fix, side panel coverings and trims. The rest of the vessel looks to be very nice indeed and will hopefully just need recommissioning.
I believe the batteries will be dead so they will need replacement. The powerful Steyr 236 (212hp) diesel engine (2001) looks to be very tidy and her structure and hull is all in original gel. She has a new canopy that was fitted a few weeks back as the family found it in the boat when cleaning her up. The hard top roof is attached to the folding radar arch and looks to my eye that this could very easily be removed and then you would have a folding radar arch sports boat.
This boat was sold in 2014 by Boatshed and at that time she was a fast and capable cruiser that apart from the cosmetic wall linings in the side double bunk cabin and saloon lower section looks very much the same as she did then.
She has a Garmin chart plotter fitted.
All the infills for the saloon and cockpit are present and all the upholstery seems to be in good condition. There are plenty of lockers and most have spare parts and other items of boating equipment in them, plus a spare propeller and many other items including life jackets.
The large saloon and galley combo is all clean and tidy and well equipped and her woodwork is very nice and in good order.
It should be assumed that you would need to place a BSC on the boat as we have no information if she has one or not. There is a large bag of history with this boat and several sets of keys and manuals etc.
As advised, this should be a light cosmetic and general recommission into service project and is potentially a bargain at the offered price.
The boat has been stored out of the water since the middle of last year and is still chocked up ashore.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price will not be accepted or considered.
