Broker's Comments
This is a vessel type that enjoys a good reputation for her seaworthiness and strikes the right balance between that and user-friendliness in port and at sea and so also makes for a good first sailing boat. She also benefits from a bilge keel deep cockpit coamings. The boat design itself, and the build reputation, should make the effort worthwhile.
Down below there is a versatile dinette arrangement to starboard, with the galley and further seating to port. Like many vessels of her age she would benefit from some work to bring her up to scratch including a new sprayhood but the price reflects this well.
This boat was unfortunately left unloved in the marina for a number of years by her previous owner and eventually given up. The ownership of the boat was therefore taken over by Torbay council and is now up for sale at a very attractive price. She has been priced to sell quickly allowing the council to recover some of their costs and so allowing the freeing up of her berth for another boat.
There has been very little information made available to the council as to the history of this boat and the paperwork is limited, but there are a number of the boat's equipment manuals available.
The boat's engine has not been run since the council took over ownership of the boat so the condition of, or its serviceability of the engine, is not known and this again is reflected in the asking price. She will also require a replacement tiller arm.
Please note that the berth this boat is currently occupying is not going to be available or transferrable with the sale of this boat.
